Van Dyke Jewelry and Fine Craft star date March 22, 2012. Can I just say, what a wonderful Spring we're having in Asheville? This week in the gallery, I have spoken with people from N.Y.C., Chicago, Raleigh, Nashville. They've all been astounded by the richness of art in our sweet, little, mountain community! So are we. Each time we have the opportunity to discuss a piece, or explain a process, desscribe a technique, we're reminded of how proud we are to be a part of the arts and crafts scene in this region.

I've shared a picture of the only remaining silk mono-print, wall-hanging, by Laura Sims that we have left. Chris often comments on how he admires this one most of all, because it shows the sunflower in a stage often overlooked. Not quite fully opened it, to me sort of signifies signs of hope. I just, 15 minutes ago, had a discussion with two women about it and one of them said "now that's art". I concur.

It has been a great day! We've seen people from other wonderful places, taking in the many attributes that make Asheville so great. We've helped a yound local man find a perfect anniversary gift for his wife, part of which happened to be an original piece by Mr.Christopher Van Dyke! Owner and in house, local, Asheville jeweler, here at Van Dyke Jelwery and Fine Craft. Happily nestled across the street from teh Fine Arts Theater on BIltmore Avenue, in downtown Asheville.
