Chris Van Dyke

The owner of Van Dyke Jewelry and Fine Craft, Chris Van Dyke has been making custom designed jewelry in Asheville for over ten years.

Chris learned his craft from his dad, Terry Van Dyke, who still owns and operates a full service jewelry store in Bloomsburg, PA.  After a stint across the country on a motorcycle he decided to become a certified gemologist from the famous Gemological Institute of America (GIA).  He now had years of training now under his belt working under the critical eye of his dad and a degree under his belt.  The  next step was finding a place to settle and start a family and a business.

Choosing Asheville, NC came naturally.  Situated on the east coast so he could be relatively close to his family, immensely beautiful, and with a thriving arts and crafts scene; Asheville was the perfect place to open his first small custom designed jewelry shop.

Ten years and three new boys later, Chris has moved from his small space in the north side of town where he focused on his custom designed jewelry and repairs to a gallery space in the heart of downtown.  This has allowed him to build a retail shop in addition to the services  he has always provided.  Always the craftsman, he hasn't stopped working at his bench.  Custom designed jewelry, handmade gemstone jewelry, and repairs are still the heart of the business and what he's passionate about.  All the services we provide at Van Dykes are done by Chris.
