Get your shop on
by Alli Marshall on 12/16/2010
There are eight shopping days left, people. This is no time to rest on your laurels. Luckily, the opportunities to score cool, unique, local gifts are abundant this weekend.
• Robin Plemmons holds a trunk show featuring “booze! Whore d’oeuvres! ...Christmas gifts that will make you pee!” at L.O.F.T. (53 Broadway St.). 5-10 p.m.
• The Jolly Jaunt takes place on Lexington Ave. on Saturday, 7-10 p.m. Participating stores (HoneyPot, Nest Organics, Virtue, Cornerstone Minerals, Write-On, Hip Replacements, The Costume Shoppe, Izzy’s Coffee Den and Mountain Lights) will be open late with cider, cookies, family fun and sales.
• Magic: A Scrollwork Designs Trunk Show takes place at Mountain Java Westridge (901 Smokey Park Hwy.) on Sunday, Dec. 19, 3-6 p.m. It’s “a celebration of all things silver and shiny [above] featuring handcrafted art jewelry by local artisan and silversmith Clarity Collins.”

Only eight days left of shopping time! Good thing I don't need to go anywhere to get what I need.
Don't forget that there are plenty of local Asheville artists on Etsy, for those of you who like to shop online.
